Suppliers

A Punchout is an industry standard interface between a procurement system and a supplier's e-commerce website. Many suppliers provide a website from which you can purchase their products and services. A growing number of these support the cXML Punchout standard. When a Punchout interface is in place the buyer can shop on the supplier's website while still collecting the purchasing data in the procurement system along with all their other purchases for reporting purposes. A properly implemented Punchout also supports the application of your business rules through the procurement system such as budgeting impact and approval workflow.

In some cases the supplier may not support the cXML Punchout standard, yet there may be a strong business reason to pursue an interface. In these cases a custom interface can be developed. BirchStreet has developed a number of custom Supplier interfaces on behalf of our customers.
